Pacific Northwest Lighthouse Literature A listing of literautre on lighthouses of Washington and Oregon. Admiralty Head Lighthouse The Keepers of the Light (Harry R. Moore) - This is Booklet published for the 2003 Centenial by the Friends of the Admiralty Head lighthouse. The booklet provides a brief history of each of the light keepers in the station's 61-year history. Discovery Park (Seattle Parks and Recreation) - a pamphlet from the park's visitor's center. It gives a history of the park, current activities, and map, including directions to the West Point light. Lighthouses Northwest - the Designs of Carl Leick (Ray Aliberti, published by Aliberti, P.O> Box 827, Coupeville WA 98239-0827) - A booklet of the designs of lighthouse engineer Carl Leick, whose plans were used at numerous lights of the Pacific Northwest. The booklet includes sketches of each station. Lighthouses of the Oregon Coast (DVD) (Beckner Media, P.O. Box 2255, Florence OR 97439) - This beautiful video gives an overview of the history of Oregon's lights, along with views of the lights today. Oregon's Seacoast Lighthouses (James A. Gibbs with Bert Webber, Webb Publishing Group, Medford OR, ISBN # 0-936738-57-X) - This is probably the most comprehensive book on lights of the Oregon Coast. Highly recommended. Pacific Northwest Lighthouses (Bruce Roberts and Roy Jones, The Globe Pequot Press, Guilford CN, ISBN # 0-7627-0000-0) - An overview of the lighthouses of the Pacific Northwest, including Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and British Columbia. (NOTE: references in the website to "Roberts and Jones" in the Pacific Northwest section of the website refer to this text unless otherwise noted.) Tillamook Light (James A. Gibbs, Binford and Mort Publishing, Portland OR, ISBN # 0-8323-0334-8) - A captivating book on the history of Tillamook Rock. The book's strength is the narrative of the author's experience during his time on Tillamook Rock. Umbrella Guide to Oregon Lighthouses (Sharlene and Ted Nelson, Epicenter Press, Seattle WA, ISBN # 0-945397-27-5) - Another handy book from the Nelsons. This book gives history and directions to all of Oregon's lighthouses, as well as those that no longer exist. (NOTE: references to "Nelson" in the Oregon lights of the Pacific Northwest section of this website refer to this book unless otherwise noted.) Umbrella Guide to Washington Lighthouses (Sharlene and Ted Nelson, Epicenter Press, Kenmore WA, ISBN # 0-945397-70-4) - A very useful guide to Washington state's lighthouses past and present, including directions and maps. (NOTE: references to "Nelson" in the Washington state lights of the Pacific Northwest section of this website refer to this book unless otherwise noted.) Yaquina Lighthouses On the Oregon Coast (Dorothy Wall with Bert Webber, Webb Research Group, Medford OR, ISBN # 0-936738-07-3) - Colorful history of the lighthouses at Yaquina Bay and Yaquina Head. The book gives a detailed account of the restoration efforts at Yaquina Bay. Also - thanks to Michael Cruson for providing the close-up photo of Tillamook Rock.
